Tips, recorded as "Overpayment" in the Cash Up, in Epicuri are always recorded based on whether the customer is due change:
- Bill total is £100, customer pays £120 by card. Overpayment is calculated as £20.
- Bill total is £100, 15% tip is applied in Epicuri (total is now £115), customer pays £120 by card. Overpayment is calculated as £20.
- Bill total is £100, customer pays £120 by cash. Overpayment is calculated as £0 (i.e. the overpayment was assumed to be given back in change)
The way a restaurant handles cash payment is a process outside of the scope of Epicuri.
